Updated 3 November 2026 | Confirmed senior men’s international fixtures announced by the BCCI.

India’s 2026–27 cricket calendar features a New Zealand tour followed by home series against Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia. The schedule mixes white-ball cricket with a five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy, giving fans several different formats to follow from November through March. This guide brings the confirmed fixtures into one place, with dates, opponents and venues. It focuses on matches still ahead as of 3 November 2026; the West Indies home tour scheduled earlier in the season has already been played.

Dates can change because of weather, team logistics or official rescheduling. Treat the fixtures below as the announced programme and check BCCI or ICC match centres for toss times, broadcast information and late changes. For detailed previews, see our India vs New Zealand Test series guide and Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2027 preview.

India tour of New Zealand: November 2026

The New Zealand visit begins with five ODIs, followed by two Tests. The ODI leg starts in Auckland on 4 November, then moves to Wellington on 7 November and Hamilton on 10 November. The fourth and fifth ODIs are scheduled for Mount Maunganui on 13 and 15 November. The Tests begin in Wellington on 19 November and Christchurch on 27 November. The tour is a substantial challenge because India move from white-ball contests into the longest format, where patience and adaptation to local conditions become central.

India’s announced Test group is led by Shubman Gill, with KL Rahul named vice-captain. Rishabh Pant’s place was subject to fitness clearance in the initial announcement, and selection updates can supersede it. The ODI squad also received fitness and availability updates, so fans should consult the latest official release before relying on a list. Our New Zealand Test preview explains the announced squad and key questions.

Sri Lanka in India: December 2026

Sri Lanka’s tour includes three ODIs and three T20 Internationals. The ODIs are scheduled for 13 December in Delhi, 16 December in Bengaluru and 19 December in Ahmedabad. The T20I series follows, with matches on 22 December in Rajkot, 24 December in Cuttack and 27 December in Pune. The sequence offers a quick format change between the traditional 50-over game and the shorter contest.

As of this update, these are fixture details rather than confirmed squads. BCCI squad announcements are normally issued closer to a series, and availability can depend on workload, injuries and selection plans. Once teams are named, the key points to follow will include India’s balance between established players and new options, Sri Lanka’s spin resources and how the venues play across the two formats. Do not assume an unannounced XI from a schedule page.

Zimbabwe in India: January 2027

Zimbabwe are scheduled to play three ODIs at the start of January. The first match is listed for 3 January in Kolkata, followed by Hyderabad on 6 January and Mumbai on 9 January. A short series can be important for players looking to make a case for future selection, but the confirmed squad and match-day XI should come from the relevant boards.

The timing gives the teams little room to reset after the December calendar. For India, the series also sits immediately before the five-Test home assignment against Australia. That makes workload planning a factor: the team may manage players differently across the white-ball fixtures and the longer Test campaign.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy: Australia in India, January–March 2027

The home season culminates in a five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The announced dates and venues are:

  • First Test: 21–25 January, Nagpur
  • Second Test: 29 January–2 February, Chennai
  • Third Test: 11–15 February, Guwahati
  • Fourth Test: 19–23 February, Ranchi
  • Fifth Test: 27 February–3 March, Ahmedabad

The schedule places Tests across five cities and spans more than six weeks. Travel, recovery and adaptation from one surface to the next will be part of the contest. India’s conditions may bring spin into the conversation, but pitch behaviour should be judged from the ground and match week rather than assumed months in advance. Australia’s plans will need to account for different venues, while India will aim to use its home knowledge and bowling depth.

The squads for a series this far ahead are not yet confirmed as of 3 November 2026. Player fitness, domestic form and selection decisions can change before January. We will update the BGT 2027 preview when official squads or availability notices are released. For background, read about the records and history of Indian cricket.

How to follow schedule changes

Use official sources for final details. The BCCI’s fixtures page is the primary reference for India’s home programme; BCCI match centres list individual fixtures and provide scorecards. The ICC site provides international match information and World Test Championship context. Broadcast schedules and start times may be announced separately by rights holders, and local timings can differ from international listings. Always check the date, time zone and venue before planning travel or setting reminders.

We use “scheduled” deliberately: the BCCI announcement provides the confirmed programme, but cricket calendars can be adjusted. A published squad is also distinct from a playing XI. This page will be revised when the board issues a new fixture notice, squad bulletin or change in venue.
